HO KAR MENG RECEIVED IStructE BOOK PRIZE 2018
KUALA LUMPUR, 09 MARCH 2019 - The School of Civil Engineering is proud of Ho Kar Meng for the nomination as a recipient of IStructE Book Prize 2018 by the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), Malaysia Regional Group. This award honors excellence in structural engineering courses of a final year undergraduate student. The award ceremony was held during the 16th Annual General Meeting on 9 March 2019 at Dewan Tan Sri Hamzah, Royal Selangor Club.
Kar Meng’s academic record has been consistently excellent. He has attained the highest aggregate marks in all structural analysis and design courses during his study since academic session 2015/2016. He has scored A in seven structural engineering courses with the highest mark in the class for all these courses.
Kar Meng has also actively participated in engineering competition and received national and international recognition. Among the participated engineering competitions include USM Build and Break Competition, Beyond Structures Competition at UNITEN, Structural Earthquake Stability at UTAR, UM Concrete Bowling Competition, Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research for Schools (IDEERS) in Taiwan and MSSA Open Ideas Competition. He was also the Honorary Secretary of IEM-USM Student Section.
