Visit from Professor Taiki Saito, Toyohashi University of Technology (TUT), Japan

Professor Taiki Saito, Director of Research Center for Collaborative Area Risk Management, Department of Architectura and Civil Engineering, Toyohashi University of Technology (TUT), Japan visited the School of Civil Engineering on 12 October 2015. During his trip to USM, he visited the heavy structures laboratory and delivered a technical talk on the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and the response of the controlled buildings during the event to academic staff and students. A meeting with the dean, the coordinator and representatives from Disaster Research Nexus (DRN) was held after the technical talk on matters related to the USM-TUT academic and research collaboration and the co-hosting of IGNITE 2017.
